Rick Drake, MS, PE, SE (Seismic)

Mr. Drake is a registered Civil and Structural Engineer in California and a graduate of California Polytechnic University, Pomona and UC Irvine. He has over 41 years of experience in the design and construction of industrial, commercial, telecom, and nuclear fuel cycle facilities. During this time, he has designed structures of carbon steel, reinforced concrete, stainless steel, masonry and timber materials. He has been actively involved in the seismic analysis, design and retrofit of commercial and industrial structures, commercial and industrial equipment, non-building structures, and nonstructural facility components. He has extensive structural and seismic investigation experience. Currently, he is a member of the committees that publish ASCE 7 and the AISC Seismic Provisions. He is a Senior Fellow in Structural Engineering at Fluor Corporation and teaches undergraduate Civil Engineering design courses at California Polytechnic University, Pomona, California.


Selena M. Forman, Ph.D, PE (Hydrology and Hydraulics)

Selena M. Forman is a senior project manager with a southern California engineering firm specializing in hydrology, hydraulics, scour analysis, and channel design. She has 15 years of experience in the teaching, research, and professional realms of civil and environmental engineering. She has conducted numerous studies involving sediment transport modeling, scour analysis and design, stable channel design, and river restoration, including projects addressing the impacts of instream and floodplain mining activities on channel stability. Dr. Forman has been a professor at San Diego State University where she taught courses in hydraulics and river engineering. She has also short courses throughout the U.S. in HEC-RAS and HEC 6, as well as the hydrology and hydraulic portions of PE exam review courses for the University of California San Diego and private organizations.


Daniel E. Mitchell, MS, PE, TE, PTOE (Traffic and Transportation)

Daniel E. Mitchell is an Assistant General Manager and the Chief Engineer for the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation, where he leads the Project Delivery Group.  He is responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of the department's capital improvement and safety projects.  Dan has taught the transportation topic for the Civil P.E. exam since 2001.  His educational background includes earning a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Loyola Marymount University and a Master's Degree in Transportation Systems from U.C. Irvine. Dan is a licensed Civil and Traffic Engineer, as well as a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE).


Siva K. Sivathasan, PhD, PE, GE (Geotechnical and Surveying)

Dr. Sivathasan is a registered Civil and Geotechnical Engineer in California. He is experienced in various projects that have included bridges, schools, hospitals, water tanks/reservoirs, residential and commercial developments. He also has prepared complex and comprehensive surveying and geotechnical reports with detailed recommendations. Currently, he is working as an Associate Engineer with Leighton Group at Rancho Cucamonga, California. He also teaches Engineering Surveying, Soil Mechanics and other Design Classes at University of California, Irvine (UCI).


Daniel Zepeda, MS, PE, SE (Structural)

Mr. Zepeda is a registered Civil and Structural Engineer in California. He obtained his BS degree in Civil Engineering from the California Polytechnic University, Pomona, in 2002 and his MS degree in Structural Engineering from UC Berkeley in 2003.  Mr. Zepeda currently works at Degenkolb Engineers were he has gathered extensive experience in structural analysis, structural design, seismic evaluation, seismic retrofit and construction administration.  He also advises an undergraduate senior project class in structural engineering at Cal Poly Pomona and mentors high school students with the ACE mentoring program. Mr. Zepeda has been involved in various committees with the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEAOSC) and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) throughout his career.


Badri Badriyha, PhD, PE (Environmental)

Dr. Badriyha is registered Civil Engineer in California and a registered Environmental Engineer in Arizona. His educational background includes a BS degree in Civil Engineering, a Master and PhD degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Southern California. He has over twenty years of experience in the environmental engineering field including designing water and wastewater facilities, degradation of recalcitrant pollutants, drinking water quality, air pollution control, advanced oxidation processes, environmental analysis, and modeling of physiochemical treatment processes. He has been a faculty with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at San Diego State University. He has often taught the water, wastewater, and environmental sections of the PE Civil License Review. Currently, he works with HDR, Inc. as a Senior Wastewater Engineer


Jon Rohrer, PE, MS (Construction)

Mr. Rohrer has over 30 years of experience with construction management for a wide variety of facilities. He is responsible for the construction management program for HDR in Southern California. His expertise includes value engineering, constructability, construction administration and claims evaluation. Projects include highway, bridge, rail, transit and port facilities. Mr. Rohrer spent 22 years supervising bridge construction engineers for Caltrans in Southern California, covering several billion dollars in construction during his time there. Projects included all the major interchanges in Orange County, interchanges on I-110, and I-105, widening of I-5, I-405, SR 55, SR 91 and the oversight of three toll roads. Mr. Rohrer earned a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois and MS from Cal State Long Beach. He is also a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in California.
