materials. He has also been actively involved in the seismic analysis, design
and retrofit of commercial and industrial structures, commercial and
industrial equipment and nonstructural facility components. He has extensive
structural and seismic investigation experience including evaluation of
existing structural integrity; identification of structural deterioration
and/or damage; determination of the causes of structural problems; estimated
seismic risk, and preparing and plans for retrofit and/or repair of
facilities. He has led several post-earthquake damage assessments after major
California earthquakes for the United States Postal Service and other
confidential financial clients. These assessments, and subsequent repair
recommendations, addressed both structural and nonstructural systems. He
currently teaches both graduate and undergraduate Civil Engineering design
courses at California Polytechnic University, Pomona,
California. He’s been teaching PE review courses since 1998.
Selena M. Forman, Ph.D, PE (Hydrology and Hydraulics)

M. Forman is a senior project manager with a southern California engineering firm
specializing in hydrology, hydraulics, scour analysis, and channel
design. She has 15 years of experience
in the teaching, research, and professional realms of civil and environmental
engineering. She has conducted
numerous studies involving sediment transport modeling, scour analysis and
design, stable channel design, and river restoration, including projects
addressing the impacts of instream and floodplain mining activities on
channel stability. Dr. Forman has been
a professor at San Diego State University where she taught courses in
hydraulics and river engineering. She
has also short courses throughout the U.S. in HEC-RAS and HEC 6, as well as
the hydrology and hydraulic portions of PE exam review courses for the
University of California San Diego and private organizations.
Daniel E. Mitchell, MS, PE, TE, PTOE (Traffic
and Transportation)
Daniel
is a Transportation Engineer for the City of Los Angeles DOT, and currently leads the
City's ATSAC traffic management center. He is responsible for the daily
operation of nearly 3,000 traffic signals, including managing traffic during
emergencies and special events. Dan has taught the transportation topic
for the Civil P.E. exam since 2001. His educational background includes
earning a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Loyola Marymount
University and a
Master's Degree in Transportation Systems from U.C. Irvine. Dan is a licensed
Civil and Traffic Engineer, as well as a certified Professional Traffic
Operations Engineer (PTOE).

Dr. Sivathasan is a registered Geotechnical and Civil Engineer in California. He is
experienced in various projects that have included bridges, schools, hospitals,
water tanks/reservoirs, residential and commercial developments. He also has prepared complex and
comprehensive geotechnical and surveying reports with detailed
recommendations. Currently, he is working as an Associate Engineer with
Leighton Group at Rancho Cucamonga,
California. He also teaches
Engineering Surveying, Soil Mechanics and other Design Classes at University of California, Irvine (UCI).
Lisa Wang, PhD, PE (Structural Review I: Structural Analysis and Concrete
Design)
Dr. Wang is an associate professor in Civil
Engineering Department at California State Polytechnic University,
Pomona. Before she joined Cal Poly in 1999, she was with an engineering
consulting firm Boyle Engineering Corporation in Newport Beach. Dr. Wang
received her Ph.D. in Structural and Earthquake Engineering from the
University of California, Irvine, her M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering from
China Academy of Railway Sciences, and her B.S. in Civil Engineering from
Southwest Jiaotong University. Dr. Wang teaches classes at undergraduate
and graduate levels in Structural Engineering, and she is the graduate
coordinator for the Master of Science in Civil Engineering (MSCE) program at
Cal Poly Pomona. Her professional interests are in the research of
liquid-structure interaction on liquid storage structures, state-of-the-art
seismic design approaches of structures with seismic protective systems, and
the design of buildings and bridges for earthquake loading.
